We produce three workable scenarios, calculate the origin outcome, defensibility and economics of each, and bring the resulting process innovations under protection.
What is it?
Scenarios are built on four levers: changing the country of origin of an input, bringing a process step in-house, constructing the product differently, or moving a step elsewhere. Each lever has a different origin effect, cost and timescale.
This work produces three outcomes at once: an improved origin position, a tariff result and — often overlooked — a protectable process innovation.
Why is it necessary?
Investment decisions are irreversible. A decision taken without calculating the origin outcome, defensibility and break-even point of three scenarios makes a multi-million-euro error permanent.
The party able to protect the resulting innovation is a registered patent attorney. A compliance consultant cannot lawfully take that step — and an unprotected innovation becomes a cost item a competitor can copy freely.
